About Emma Smith, founder of Pussycat Poles.

Emma started out as a studio instructor teaching spin, body pump etc, she was bored of teaching the same routines. Emma had danced previously for 15 years doing ballet, tap & modern jazz & just wanted to get back into a different style of dance! Then Pole Dancing just popped into Emma's head - she had never seen it or heard much about it - she just knew I wanted to do it! Emma has been pole dancing now since February 2005. We asked Emma a few questions about herself:

What is your favourite pole dancing move?

"Hmmm there are sooooo many - I love them all!"

"My favourite pole dancers are Tracey Simmonds & Deb Riley - They are both an inspiration :)"
 
What do you love about teaching pole dancing?

"I love changing the way people perceive pole dancing - it is far removed from the seedy strip club image & is now a respectable form of dance fitness! I feel so proud when my ladies walk out of the studio holding themselves 2 inches taller!"
 
What do you hope new pole dancers will gain from your instructional pole dancing DVD?

"I hope that ladies who try my pole dancing DVD will not only feel the physical benefits but also notice the emotional benefits too!"
 
Apart from pole dancing what else is special in your life?

"I have 3 gorgeous pets.... 2 Bengal cats - Louie who is leopard spotted & Winston is tiger striped & my new addition to my family is Archie (pictured below)! He is a Chug! - A Chihuahua crossed with a pug! He is only 5 months & is adorable! He comes with me to class wearing his Pussycat Poles security T Shirt"

What is your Pole dancing nemesis?

"Well you can't have them all! It would be boring if you had nothing to work on! Im currently working on the table top! Amongst other things!"
 
What's the most unusual place you have ever pole danced?

"On the underground in London!"
