JLN Pole Fitness hits Bolton Town Centre

UK Pole Dance Day is fast approaching and the instructors of JLN Pole Fitness decided to get a feel for the General Public's’ opinion about Pole dancing. We arranged a time to have a Photo-shoot in the town centre.

We set up our X-stage right outside Bolton Town Hall on Saturday 10th April 2010 at about 11am. Taz from PoleXposure came along to take our pictures. We had permission from the council to be there and the lady from the council greeted us with a big smile and said we couldn’t have picked a better day as the sun was shining!

The crowds gathered as we did various moves on the pole. We heard a lot of WOW’s and OMG that’s fantastic! We handed out loads of flyers and lots of ladies took great interest. There were also lots of men with their cameras out taking video and pictures but they were genuinely impressed as a lot of them said so.

We were there for about 1.5hours and there was nothing negative at all, when we were packing away the lady from the council said we were amazing and the public seemed very impressed. Taz took some wicked shots of us I think they look great.

To be honest in the last 18 months I have been teaching Pole Fitness I have never had anything negative said to me or heard anything. Maybe I have just been lucky but I do believe the stigma is dying down a lot because there are more and more ladies & men taking it up as a form of exercise. I think the future for pole is very bright.

I know a lot of people want to try it but they are just so nervous and don’t know what to expect. If you have a class near you just book in and try it there is nothing at all to worry about once you try it you will never look back. It’s a fantastic fun way to keep fit and meet a lot of new friends.
