Due to the devastating earthquake in Haiti several pole dancers have joined forces to arrange a pole dancing charity night to raise money for victims of the Haiti disaster. Those attending the event will get the chance to donate money but for those of you who can't make it just click here to make your donation to the Oxfam Haiti emergency appeal. The pole dancing event, which is being organised by Vicky Heasman, Debbie Merchant and Emma Pearson, will be held this Sunday 24th January 2010 at Taylors Retreat, Capel, Surrey, UK. Taylors retreat is a fabulous venue boasting 12 poles and the ability to hold 150 people! Amongst those performing on the poles will be Miss Pole Dance UK 2009 winner Maxine Betts and Miss Pole Dance world runner up and Miss Pole Dance Uk 2008 winner Alesia Vazmitsel. We have performing Miss Maxine Betts – current UK Miss Pole Dance 2009 , also Alesia who is the 2008 Miss Pole Dance champion, also 3rd place Miss Pole World 2009. Alongside the pole dancing there will be entertainment in the form of a steeplechase involving local riders from, Capel. Vicky Heasman said "Debbie and I have been best friends for 5 years. We are both freelance pole dancing instructors. Emma Pearson is our very good friend, her experience as a regional sales manager at an international company has really helped to organise the event.
Debbie Merchant from Pole Passion said "I have taught for Pole Passion for the last 5 years and for the Pole Studio for the last 3 months. I love pole dancing and raising money for the Haiti survivors,it is a great opportunity for us to use our pole dance skills to help people less fortunate than us. The amount of support that we have had from the pole dancing community is amazing and I am proud to be part of such a wonderful group of people. Kay from Pole Passion said "I first heard about the event on Facebook, late on Saturday evening, just busily catching up with emails, Debbie was online and asked for help as her close friends Vicky & Emma were wanting to set up the event. I nonchalantly mentioned it to Steve (R-pole creator) who was nearby, who mentioned it would be great to donate an R-pole for a raffle, with all proceeds to the people of Haiti. WOW I said, really??? OMG that’s amazing YES YES YES lets do it. So I messaged Debbie to say R-Pole would like to donate a brand new R-pole to raffle for the pole community, in which she replied YES YES YES !! within minutes it was on Facebook and people were beginning to message and email us wanting more details. More an more people began to donate. It was the best feeling. As we have all been hit by the devastating daily news of human suffering in Haiti, it’s a way we felt we could perhaps make a little difference."
