X-poles have taken the world by storm by providing the pole dancing industry with a fully removable and portable pole dancing pole which can operate as a static or spinning unit and can be adjusted to fit many ceiling heights. The success of x-pole has resulted in some companies trying to cash in on the x-pole market by creating fake x-poles.

Fake x-poles are a growing problem as they are marketed to look like real x-poles with some adverts even claiming to be selling genuine x-poles with one difference- the price. As the saying goes if you see an offer that looks too good to be true then it generally is! If you see a company selling a brand new ‘x-pole’ under the RRP then you should do some serious research to see if you are buying a genuine pole or not.

If you do make the mistake of buying a fake x-pole you will soon find out why your purchase was considerably cheaper than the real thing. Firstly many fake poles feature a plastic upper dome rather than the genuine metal upper. The plastic dome is likely to collapse whilst the pole is being used. Secondly the pole is likely to be poorly made so the screw threads may not be well engineered resulting in difficulty in putting the pole together and taking it apart. A Third common problem with fakes is that the base is not articulating so the pole will not work on uneven floors and the lack of articulation can also stop the pole being used as a spinning unit. The problems will not stop there as when you do identify any issues with your pole you cannot expect any follow up customer service.

For most victims of fake poles once they have departed with their cash there will be no opportunity to return your product let alone get your money back. The chances are you will be stuck with a pole you can’t use and an empty wallet.  The trend for fake poles does not just stop with x-poles and other pole producers are now finding their products being faked.
