British Pole Dance Academy Launch.
On Sunday 06 December 2009 Deb Riley wil be launching her new 18 pole studio in Stoke-on-Trent. The event will start at midday and run until 8pm. The launch will include a fantastic day of pole jamming, pole performances and classes. (this article will be udpated as we receive more news!) British Pole Dance Academy brings you Alesia Vazmitsel. Alesia started ballet dancing at the age of four. From age 11 Alesia trained at a circus school and then worked in National Circus of Belarus as a gymnast and dancer. She has been pole dancing since 1997. Alesia is a mesmerizing performer and very inspiring to watch. Alesia has lived in London for three years and has taught Pole Master Classes and stretch classes. Her hobbies include various sports and travelling the world. Alesia is currently ranked 3rd in the World.

Miss Glory Pearl:The British Pole Dance Academy offers a rare opportunity to learn from professional burlesque and cabaret star, Miss Glory Pearl. To coincide with our launch, we will be offering two one-hour workshops; Burlesque Basics and Circus Aerial Basics. 
Burlesque Basics will teach you the secrets of burlesque, how to connect with an audience and deliver a memorable performance, the art of the reveal, and how to develop a stage persona, as well as some sexy, teasing moves. All props are provided and you should wear clothes you can move inand a pair of high-heeled shoes.
Circus Aerial Basics will introduce you to static trapeze, aerial hoop and silks, show you basic safety rules and practice, ways to mount and dismount the equipment, and some simple but effective tricks. Be warned, aerial is as addictive as pole dancing! You will need to wear leggings and a long-sleeved t-shirt and may like to bring socks or soft ballet slippersto keep your feet warm.

About Miss Pearl: Miss Glory Pearl creates genre-defying acts that blend classic burlesque,pole dance, static trapeze and aerial hoop with humour, sparkle, and a healthy dose of British self-deprecation. She teaches for Burlesque Baby and Pole Dancing School in London, and performs regularly on the international cabaret and burlesque scene, introducing audiences to Burly-Pole, her unique fusion of two great traditions. She was voted one of the best newcomers at the 2009 London Burlesque Festival and has gone on to perform with some of the best in the business at prestigious venues including the Cafe de Paris, Madam Jo Jo’s and the DNA Lounge, San Francisco.
